History Of Internet Webcast
The word 'webcast' came from Daniel Keys Moran's novel titled "Armageddon Blues" in 1988. To make people understand the changes in the Internet industry, the four major Internet webcast providers in the United States such as Xing Technologies, InterVox Communications, ITV.net, and Audionet came up with the said name. At first they tried using netcast but realized there is already a company called NetCast that also provided such services. And since the Internet webcast relies on the use of the World Wide Web, the name "webcast" was taken.
The distribution of streaming live broadcast multi-media using the Internet is being done through Internet webcast. Listeners or viewers from different parts of the globe can listen and watch instructions online as it is being streamed across the Internet. Users are able to access the content of the video stream via a Webcast. And because the range of the Internet does not limit users in terms of range, any information provided via webcast can be viewed through the radio or the television.
It was Brian Raila who first conceptualized the idea of the Internet webcast. He was from GTE laboratories who presented a recommendation about providing information to many users across the world without the need to download the content just to listen or watch something. During the New York InterTainment in 1989, Raila also mentioned that in the future, the speed of the Internet will highly increase, making it possible for now what is called, "the Internet webcast."
James Paschetto who was also from GTE Laboratories conjured up a visual demonstration of how the Internet works at the same time as Raila did. He was also the first one who created the first demonstration of how the Internet webcast service or live webcast is created. It was in October 1995 during the Voice Mail Association of Webcast Technology meeting when the very first Internet webcast was used. The first commercial enterprise to have used the webcast was the hospital industry. It was then followed by introductory video market tours using the webcast technology. This was collaborated by the Visual Data Corp. and HotelView. This technology followed record webcast services and the birth of the webcast system. At this time Internet webcasting using the Internet is widely being used by different forms of multi-media. The growth of the Internet, specifically the broadband industry where cable and DSL connections have penetrated the evolution of information distribution also increased the users of Internet webcast. Web 2.0 also played an important part in technology as Internet websites like YouTube is now greatly serving the people's brain with a lot of information using webcast. This is with the help of Creative Commons Licensing which is a new content licensing scheme and is just one of those who have expanded user generated content. Internet webcast has turned sales into the higher benchmark and has reduced training expenses for most companies and right now, it is the same webcast technology that is now famous and useful enough to have been utilized even during the US Presidential election.
